It is true, none of us will know the true extent of damage that the backspace button created until we are long into our senior years. At which point we will all have already been deaf for ages due to our use of headphones with the Ipod volumes on "blaring". We could also have carpal-thumal from texting and possibly all be amputees in our early 60's from the lack of movement and poor circulation caused by using TV remotes, ordering on line or through QVC and ordering take-out. We are a society of obesity and diabetes. How sad is it that this girl was given the advise of "get another phone better for texting" rather than "hey, get on your bike & pedal over to the person you are talking to". Gotta love the age of technology!!

Well ... obviously those politicians are trying to self-associate to the population of underlings they are never going to have to deal with once they obtain their vote. It's like Clinton trying to obtain the drug users vote, but saying he tried marijuana, but also calmed the raised eyebrows of his fellow politicians by lying that he never inhaled. Uhuh. He basically admitted wasting good pot to America and won the vote. So the politicians lie. That's old news. Why the crowds cheer? Well ... that is an age old conundrum. I have no idea, but the get into these mobs and people start saying stuff ... like Republicans banter about the uphill both ways battle to school ... and the crowd goes nuts. I'd also like to announce the fact the soap operas and the World Wrestling Federation are still very much alive and well in our society. These low forms of entertainment are beyond my realm of comprehension. It's like watching three hours of NASCAR. Most people aren't watching the cars going in circles for three hours ... they're waiting for a crash. Or reality TV ... American Idol, for example ... why can't they put on all good singers and have to weed them out from there. Why are the comic reliefs that every knows will not make it put in the mix? For the entertainment value. We all want to hear Simon Cowell bash people in person on live television. It's stupid, but it doesn't change and it isn't going away. Unfortunately, neither will the lying of politicians to obtain votes of the underlings. Give America one presidential campaign in the future where the politicians are unable to slander their opponents and only able to say what they will try to accomplish in office. Now that would be a modern day miracle ... but that isn't going to happen ever either. Good stuff for thought provocation, honey ... but that's why I married you! :>) Love you!

I love that story about your dad. I wish I'd had the chance to meet him because like the rest of your wonderful family, I just know he was an amazing person. I always enjoy your perspective on life (and death) and look forward to your stories.

To answer your last question ... or at least place an answer to the hypothetical question ... Subdued and suffocated in reflection of your past sins, mistakes, and regrets ... or be truly alive and celebrate what you've accomplished knowing you're dying and your time is limited. The former is a form of hell before you get there, one could surmise. The latter a truly heroic way to pass from this life. Oddly enough, Vix has another somewhat comical fun-eral story to tell ... don't you babe? I think you should entitle that one ... "Day by Day." :>)

You have a really cool outlook on life. I try to be positive as well in as many circumstances as possible. Sometimes it is difficult but if you can find a laugh then that really helps to heal!

i think apart from love we should also impose respect, faith, care etc. sometimes many people misinterpreted love and underestimate one's capacity, believing that the other party would love them no matter what. thanks for sharing!
